Due to growing COVID-19 outbreak, as Software Defined Storage vendor, we would like to help as much as we can during these tough times. We hereby offer license and support for our software, MooseFS Pro, completely free of charge – to all the laboratories and organizations dealing with combating the causes of the pandemic and mitigating its effects. MooseFS Pro helps to build reliable and efficient storage clusters in minutes – and it may be a great help when time matters.

MooseFS Pro is software that allows you to build fast and reliable petabyte file systems on any type of servers. It is used worldwide in many bioinformatics laboratories, computer modelling facilities, research institutes, etc.

We believe that it can also be useful in other cases where constant fight with pandemic is taking place every day, such as hospitals, laboratories, public health institutions, dealing with large amounts of data.

This action is directed to any organization dealing with direct research on viruses, vaccines, pandemic modelling, crisis management etc. We will provide a license for any required cluster size and any required time. Docker Volume Plugin for MooseFS Available Now!

Thanks to Docker Volume Plugin for MooseFS, you can create a Docker Volume, which will allow the data to exist even after the container/volume is removed. We have prepared Docker Volume Plugin for MooseFS and released .deb and .rpm packages for RedHat/CentOS and Debian/Ubuntu host operating systems.

To use this plugin with containers:
  • First of all, mount MooseFS storage on Docker hosts using MooseFS Client
  • Create Docker Volume and connect it to the mountpoint on the host.

Our future goal is to provide a plugin which does not require any software on the host system.

MooseFS User wins at ERL Emergency 2017 event!

We are proud to make this announcement that our friends from the “Institute of Mathematical Machines and Mandala Robotics” secured the first and second positions in the “Autonomous Robots International Competition: ERL Emergency 2017” held recently at Piombino, Italy. Their robot uses MooseFS driven storage for 3D Scanning, 3D Mapping, and 3D Modelling.

The RoboRobot 150x150 - MooseFS User wins at ERL Emergency 2017 event!t needed to perform multiple high-level functions simultaneously like Modelling & Mapping its processor, managing its control station, performing AI-driven automatic object recognition to mention among a few, and this required robust parallel access to data which was supported by MooseFS.

Additionally, MooseFS allowed a significant amount of data to be processed in real-time. This feature facilitated Robot’s multiple 3D scans along with 360° video to cover the entire investigating area.

This is an excellent example to showcase one of the many benefits that MooseFS provides to its customers!

 

MooseFS GitHub Project Released!

We are extremely pleased to announce, that MooseFS has been released on GitHub.

At present, the repository contains two branches

  • Master (for the currently developed version, that as of now happens to be MooseFS 3.0.x)
  • 2.0.x (containing MooseFS 2.0.x).

If you want to contribute to MooseFS, we encourage you to do so by using GitHub’s bug tracker.

In case you encounter any issues with MooseFS, please feel free to raise a ticket on GitHub, and we will be happy to help you!
